Asleep at last

Our pediatrician told us that some babies become fussy at two weeks. It would seem that Ellie is advanced (so proud!) — she has become markedly more fussy over the past two/three days. It’s not so difficult to get her to settle, but it’s hard to keep her settled. No more 4 + hour sleeps. At times, the only thing that will soothe her is the breast (which we’ve taken to calling “the magic boob”), even if she has just eaten, the result being that Emily is not getting a lot of sleep.

But now both Ellie and Emily are asleep. Long may it last! I’m about to settle down with a cup of tea and Andrew Sullivan’s blog, which has fantastic, and often moving, coverage of what is going on in Iran — I’ve been glued to it all weekend.

Update: Ellie is just waking up from a 3 + hour nap. Thank you Jebus!
